DESCRIPTION:Join Amon Carter Museum every second Thursday to connect with art through cocktails\, conversations\, and creativity. This month\, gain insight into the Stephanie Syjuco: Double Vision installation and learn from local experts about Indigenous representation in art.\n  \nSchedule\n5–8 p.m.\nEnjoy drinks in the Atrium. Carter members get one complimentary drink! Lite bites are available for purchase at the Carter’s Food Cart. \nJoin us in The Lounge to create your own work of art inspired by Stephanie Syjuco: Double Vision and the Carter’s collection. Supplies are limited to the first 200 people. \n6–7 p.m.\nTalk to local experts throughout the Museum and learn about the works referenced in Double Vision from their perspective. \n\nDr. Frederick Gooding Jr.\, Associate History and inaugural holder of the Dr. Ronald E. Moore Endowed Professor of the Humanities at Texas Christian University\, will share his thoughts on William Tylee Ranney’s Marion Crossing the Peedee.\nDarryl Lauster\, an intermedia artist\, writer\, and Professor of Sculpture at the University of Texas Arlington\, will talk about The Broncho Buster and other Frederic Remington sculptures on view at the Carter.\nDr. Wendi Sierra\, Assistant Professor of Game Studies at Texas Christian University\, will discuss Albert Bierstadt’s The Rocky Mountains\, Lander’s Peak.\nKristen Gaylord\, Carter curator\, will share background information about Stephanie Syjuco: Double Vision.\n\nAmerican Sign Language (ASL) interpretation may be provided during this event upon advance request.
