This month\, sip on a Venetian-inspired cocktail\, take a masterclass in Italian food and wine\, and learn about Americans in Italy in the exhibition Sargent\, Whistler\, and Venetian Glass: American Artists and the Magic of Murano. \nSchedule\n5–8 p.m.\nEnjoy drinks on our Plaza along with Italian and international pop music played by DJ Wild in the Streets. \nCarter members get one complimentary drink! Lite bites are available for purchase at the Carter’s Food Cart. \nPaint “en plein air” on our Porch\, just like the artists in the exhibition enjoyed doing. Led by Carter Community Artist Lingchia Tsai. Supplies are limited to the first 200 people. \n5–6 p.m.\nEnjoy Prosecco\, Prosciutto di Parma\, and Parmigianino Reggiano with the Italy-America Chamber of Commerce of Texas. Jeremy Parzen\, Ph.D. of Do Bianchi blog\, will lead a lively tasting of authentic Italian products as part of IACC’s Extraordinary Italian Taste series. Food and drinks are limited and will be first-come\, first-served. \n6–7:30 p.m.\nExhibition Talk: Alex Mann\, Director of Curatorial Affairs and Chief Curator at Telfair Museums\, will talk with Carter curator Maggie Adler about how the Sargent\, Whistler\, and Venetian Glass exhibition came together. They’ll also share information about the artists’ time in Italy and how Venice inspired their artistic experimentation at the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th century. Hosted at the Cedars Alamo Drafthouse\, attendees will have access to theatre food menu\, the exclusive film screening\, and panel discussion featuring local business leaders forging the future of Black Entrepreneurship and Innovation. \nDirected by award-winning filmmaker Stanley Nelson\, the film brings the largely unknown stories of enterprising African Americans to the forefront. This documentary traces the lives of African American entrepreneurs over 150 years\, from those bound by bondage to moguls at the top of million-dollar empires. \n“We are bringing the community together to reflect on the entrepreneurial history of the Black community.
