Theย Dallasย Zooย announces the addition ofย Tyroneย Taylorย to its executive team as the Vice President of People and Culture. In this newly created role, Taylor will drive talent management, foster organizational development, and elevate employee engagement through strategies that align with theย Zooโs mission and values.

Taylor’s appointment marks a significant step toward building a more inclusive and strategically focused future for the Dallas Zoo. His leadership will be instrumental in maintaining a keen awareness of employee needs, cultivating employee morale initiatives, and navigating organizational shifts that support our long-term vision and overarching goals. As a key member of the executive leadership team, Taylor will contribute not just as a human resources expert but as a strategic advisor who will provide valuable insights that shape the Zoo’s operational direction and long-term strategy.

Tyrone Taylor brings over 20 years of leadership experience in the hospitality and amusement park industry to his new role. Before joining the Dallas Zoo, he served as Corporate Director of Human Resources for Six Flags Entertainment, where he played a crucial role in executing talent management and strategic initiatives for the world’s largest regional theme park company.
In addition to his corporate experience, Taylor has maintained a management consulting practice for more than a decade, supporting local businesses with fractional human resource services across various industries, including retail, entertainment, non-profit, construction, tourism, education, and healthcare.
Taylor also is an active leader in the community. He currently serves as Chair of the Tarrant County Workforce Development Board, whose mission is to provide innovative workforce solutions that engage employers and career seekers. Additionally, he is a member of the board of trustees for Medical City Arlington Hospital.
Taylor holds a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Texas atย Dallasย and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Arlington. He is a certified Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and SHRM-Certified Professional (SHRM-CP).
