DALLAS โ€“ July 21, 2025 โ€“ Dream Center Dallas is proud to announce its annual Back to School Drive to support Dallas children and families in need. This yearโ€™s event will take place on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at 10 a.m. in the parking lot of Dream Center Dallas, located at 1900 S Ewing Ave, Dallas, TX 75216. Supplies will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while they last.

The event will provide free backpacks, school supplies, and shoes to children in kindergarten through sixth grade, helping to ease the financial burden that often comes with preparing for a new school year. To participate, a child must be present, but no registration is required.

In addition to the distribution, families can enjoy games, rides, food, and prizes during the event, creating a fun and supportive environment as the community gears up for the school year ahead.

A registration form for children is now available and encouraged to help the team better plan for shoe sizes. Families can fill it out in advance here: click here to register.

Community members who wish to support the Back to School Drive can get involved by volunteering or giving financially.

โ€œEach new school year brings excitement and possibility, but for many families, it also brings stress and uncertainty,โ€ said Kacie Kintz, Director of Dream Center Dallas. โ€œOur mission is to stand in the gap by bringing relief, encouragement, and resources that remind families they are not alone. The Back-to-School Drive is more than just handing out supplies. It is an act of love and solidarity from our volunteers, partners, and community. Every child deserves to walk in confidenceโ€”donโ€™t miss this opportunity!โ€

The Dream Center first began in Los Angeles in 1994, serving as a resource center focused on providing support to those affected by homelessness, hunger, and lack of education through residential and community outreach programs. In 2020, Pastors Dustin and Jamie Bates established Dream Center Dallas, after partnering with LA Dream Center, in order to provide resources and services in the areas of education, homelessness, hunger, poverty, addiction, abuse, and human trafficking within Dallas.

Dream Center Dallas has completed the renovation of the iconic Historic Gospel Lighthouse Church, originally built in 1948. Dallas-based Merriman Anderson Architects (MAA) provided architectural and interior design services, following The Secretary of the Interiorโ€™s Standards for the Treatment of Historic Properties. Located at 5525 W Illinois Ave, Dallas, TX 75211, the church is the first of two historic buildings being transformed to support Dream Center Dallasโ€™ ministry and outreach efforts.
