Overview:

Bishop Kenneth O. Robinson Jr. of DreamLife Worship Center in Northwest Baltimore County is calling Black men around the world to join in a call-in prayer at 6 a.m. Eastern Standard Time on Dec. 1. The prayer session aims to pray for revival and spiritual awakening, renewal of the mind, brotherhood and accountability, healing and deliverance, and for men to lead themselves, their families, their churches, and the nation. The ministry describes itself as more than a traditional church, committed to restoring lives, rebuilding people, and reclaiming communities through the love of God.

At a moment when many Americans feel the very foundations of faith and democracy are being shaken, calls for prayer are echoing across the country.ย  From houses of worship and pulpits to as well as individuals on social media, plenty of people are urging collective spiritual action.

And DreamLife Worship Center, an uplifting, Bible teaching church in Northwest Baltimore County, is no exception.

Bishop Kenneth O. Robinson Jr. has issued a call focused specifically on men. Believing that fathers, in particular, play a pivotal spiritual role in the community, Robinson is asking Black men around the world to join in prayer at 6 a.m. Eastern Standard Time on Dec. 1. Itโ€™s a call-in prayer. People wishing to join can call 267-807-9636. The access code is 597121.

Praying for Revival and Spiritual Awakening

He has outlined specific directives for the prayer session, including praying for revival and spiritual awakening, for renewal of the mind, for brotherhood and accountability, for healing and deliverance, and for men to begin to lead themselves, their families, their churches, and the nation.

โ€œIn the last days, there will be a turning point in the lives of men, especially fathers, according to the prophet Malachi.

โ€˜And he will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the earth with a curse (Malachi 4:6 NKJV),โ€™โ€ Robinson says.

โ€œAs the fathers are restored, so will the families be restored. So we are calling all men to align themselves with Godโ€™s plan for us and join us in prayer.โ€

More Than a Traditional Church

Robinson serves as the founding and apostolic pastor, along with his wife, Dr. Lenyar Robinson, of DreamLife Worship Center in Randallstown, Maryland. The ministry describes itself as more than a traditional church on its website. โ€œWeโ€™re a family committed to restoring lives, rebuilding people, and reclaiming communities through the love of God,โ€ they explain.

What began in 1991 with a mere eight members has blossomed into DreamLife Worship Centers in Prosper, Texas, and most recently, in New Orleans, which constitute Dream Nation Alliance. Heโ€™s been pastoring for more than 30 years and was recently elevated to the office of Bishop.

For Robinson, the Dec. 1 prayer call is both a spiritual directive and a community strategy. So at a time when political tension, moral anxiety, and social fragmentation shape daily life, DreamLife offers hope.
