Overview:

Prism Health North Texas operates three full-service pharmacies within their clinics in Oak Cliff, South Dallas, and Uptown, offering convenient access to quality care, easy prescription pickup, integration with their provider network, and free delivery with some exceptions. Their integrated pharmacy model allows providers and pharmacists to coordinate care in real-time, and their digital tools make managing medications simpler. Additionally, 100% of the proceeds from prescriptions ordered by their provider and filled at their pharmacies are reinvested back into programs and services for their patients, including supporting the care of those without health insurance.

Re-envisioning Healthcare

When Dallas families think about healthcare, they often picture doctorโ€™s visits and lab work. But according to Drew Anderson, PharmD, RPh, AAHIVP, Chief Pharmacy Officer at Prism Health North Texas, the pharmacy is just as essential to staying healthy, especially in high-need neighborhoods like Oak Cliff and South Dallas.

โ€œPrism Health North Texas operates three full-service pharmacies embedded directly within our clinics,โ€ Anderson explained. โ€œWe offer access to quality care with highly trained staff, easy prescription pickup, integration with our provider network, and free delivery with some exceptions.โ€

The Prism Health North Texas Pharmacy goes beyond a typical setup. At Prism Pharmacies, patients can see their provider, complete lab work, and pick up prescriptions all without leaving the building. For families juggling work, school, and transportation challenges, that convenience can make all the difference.

Pharmacy Services Designed for the Community

Prism Health North Texas Pharmacies are located in Oak Cliff, South Dallas, and Uptown: communities where accessible, affordable care is critical. Staffed by highly trained pharmacists and technicians, the pharmacies handle everything from routine prescriptions to complex specialty medications.

Seasonal vaccines are also available on a walk-in basis, making it easy to stay up to date without scheduling an additional appointment.

โ€œWe handle most specialty prescriptions with ease,โ€ Anderson says, โ€œEnsuring your medications are accessible, accurate, and easy to manage.โ€

For patients, that means fewer phone calls, fewer delays, and a healthcare experience that feels personal rather than transactional.

Filling The Leadership Prescription

Anderson earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from The Ohio State University and holds certification as an HIV Pharmacist through the American Academy of HIV Medicine. After moving to Dallas in 2019, he helped establish Prismโ€™s South Dallas pharmacy before expanding operations to Oak Cliff and Uptown.

Today, he oversees pharmacy services across the organization, continuing a career dedicated to accessible, affirming care.

Healthcare works best when itโ€™s connected, Anderson emphasizes.

Convenience That Fits Your Life

Managing medications is simpler with Prismโ€™s digital tools. The RxLocal app allows patients to refill prescriptions, message pharmacy staff, and track orders quickly. Each prescription bottle includes a QR code linking to detailed information about dosage and side effects. Plus, it gives access to private counseling rooms for one-on-one discussions.

Free prescription delivery (with limited exceptions) ensures patients can receive medications and even provides the option to add low-cost over-the-counter essentials like vitamins, allergy relief, or first aid supplies to their order.

โ€œNo calling big box stores to see if your order is ready, finding transportation to a location across town,โ€ Anderson assures, โ€œAnd your experience is personal and professional every time.โ€

An Easy Way to Give Back

Beyond convenience, using Prism Health North Texas Pharmacy directly benefits the community.

โ€œ100% of the proceeds from prescriptions ordered by your Prism Health North Texas provider and filled at our pharmacies are reinvested back into programs and services for our patients,โ€ Anderson explained, โ€œIncluding supporting the care of those without health insurance.โ€

In a state with high uninsured rates, that reinvestment strengthens the safety net for neighbors who need it most. Simply choosing to fill prescriptions at Prism becomes a way to support broader access to healthcare at no added cost. To learn more about becoming a patient, visit phntx.org or call 214-521-5191.
