For 40 years, Prism Health North Texas has served as a lifeline for Dallas families seeking compassionate, affordable healthcare.
What began as AIDS Arms Network, a nationally recognized leader in HIV and sexual health services, has evolved into a full-service community health organization serving more than 17,000 patients across North Texas.

Now, as the organization prepares to celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2026, Prism Health North Texas is reflecting on its impact while looking toward the future of community care.

โWeโve grown alongside this community,โ said Alexis Bromley, Director of Development for Prism Health North Texas. โOur mission has always been about meeting people where they are and making sure healthcare remains accessible for everyone.โ
Expanding Care Where Itโs Needed Most
Today, Prism Health North Texas offers a wide range of patient-centered services, including primary care, HIV and sexual health services, womenโs health, pediatrics, behavioral health, dental care, and support services designed to remove barriers to care.

This year, the organization is expanding pediatric and womenโs health services in two high-need communities: Oak Cliff and South Dallas.
โAs healthcare becomes more expensive and harder to access, these services become even more important,โ Bromley explained. โWe want families to know they can receive quality care close to home, regardless of their insurance status or ability to pay.โ
That commitment has made Prism Health North Texas a trusted healthcare resource for generations of Dallas residents.
A Community Safety Net
For many patients, Prism Health North Texas is more than a clinic. Itโs a safety net.
โHealthcare shouldnโt determine whether someone succeeds at school, at work, or at home,โ Bromley said. โWhen people support Prism, theyโre supporting their neighbors receiving routine checkups, prescriptions, dental care, behavioral health services, and preventive care before a situation becomes an emergency.โ

Texas continues to have the highest uninsured rate in the nation, with North Texas leading the state in uninsured residents. Through sliding fee scales and patient-centered care, Prism works to ensure no one is turned away because of cost.
Support from the community helps sustain those efforts, funding everything from sick visits and immunizations to clinical research and medication access.
A Weekend of Celebration
To mark the milestone anniversary, Prism Health North Texas is hosting a weekend of events this May designed to celebrate both its history and the people who made it possible.
On Friday, May 15, supporters are invited to the Empire Room for an evening fundraiser benefiting the expansion of pediatric services, including behavioral health and specialized asthma care at clinics in Oak Cliff and South Dallas.

Then on Saturday, May 16, families can attend Care on the Block, a community block party at the South Dallas Health Center featuring food, music, games, and local partners for an afternoon centered on wellness and neighborhood connection.

โWe want this anniversary to celebrate the community that helped build us,โ Bromley said. โOur goal is to remain an anchor for North Texas families for the next 40 years and beyond.โ
Building the Future Together
As Prism Health North Texas enters its next chapter, leaders say community support remains critical to keeping care accessible for all.

โBeing a supporter means becoming part of someoneโs healthcare journey,โ Bromley explained. โIt means helping a child receive care, helping a family avoid an emergency room visit, and helping neighbors stay healthy and connected.โ
