DALLAS (July 31, 2025) โ€” Trinity Park Conservancy and Greenspace Dallas are proud to announce the return of the Trinity River Crew program for summer 2025, generously presented by Bank of America. This dynamic youth workforce development initiative offers paid opportunities for Dallas-area high school students to engage in environmental education, conservation work and leadership training along the iconic Trinity River.

Now, in its fifth year, the Trinity River Crew program continues to provide local teens with hands-on experience in environmental stewardship while fostering valuable life and career skills. Over a seven-week period, participants work alongside conservation professionals, learn about urban ecology, develop workplace readiness, and explore careers in sustainability, conservation and public service.ย

โ€œThe Trinity River Crew is making a remarkable impact on youth from historically underserved communities in the Dallas area, and we are excited to invest in the future of our communityโ€™s youth, creating opportunities while improving our environment through this meaningful work,โ€ said Jennifer Chandler, President, Bank of America Dallas. โ€œThis partnership is part of our ongoing commitment to build brighter futures in North Texas.โ€

The 2025 program cohort includes 13 core members and two interns from diverse Dallas neighborhoods, reflecting the Conservancyโ€™s commitment to equity, access and community-led conservation. Throughout the summer, the Crew will help maintain trails, restore native habitats, remove invasive species, and participate in educational workshops with local environmental leaders.ย

โ€œThe Trinity River Crew is about more than just summer employment โ€” itโ€™s about creating a connection between young people and the river that runs through their city,โ€ said Tony Moore, chief executive officer of Trinity Park Conservancy. โ€œThanks to Bank of Americaโ€™s support, weโ€™re investing in the leaders of tomorrow while enhancing the health and beauty of the Trinity River corridor today.โ€

The program also includes weekly sessions focused on financial literacy, resume-building, and college and career planning โ€” equipping participants with tools for long-term success.

About Trinity Park Conservancy:
Trinity Park Conservancy is a nonprofit dedicated to the stewardship of Dallasโ€™ largest public green space, the 10,000 acres of the Trinity River and champions the transformation of the Trinity River Corridor to become the heart of Dallas. As one of the first major recreation projects within the Trinity River Corridor Plan, Harold Simmons Park invites residents to elevate their quality of life with enhanced outdoor Dallas experiences. With its iconic views and a wide array of activity spaces, amenities, and programming, it will be the premiere park of Dallas situated along the river, framed by the Ronald Kirk Bridge to the North and the Margaret McDermott Bridge to the South. Encompassing more than 250 acres, Harold Simmons Park is centrally located to connect West Dallas, South Dallas, and downtown Dallas, across the Trinity River. It will draw Dallas residents and visitors to gather and enjoy the river, walking, biking, picnics, and more while creating momentum for sustainable development of areas along the Trinity River.

About Greenspace Dallas:
Our mission is to restore and develop accessible national park-quality green spaces within the City of Dallas, nurturing tomorrowโ€™s environmental leaders, engaging companies and the community to roll up their sleeves with, and ultimately create a healthier city for all. Projects include the restoration of Hines Park, a once-forgotten area covered in debris, the 110-acre Frasier Dam Recreation Area – a former illegal dumping ground that we transformed into a vibrant urban forest, and the L.B. Houston Nature Trail. The ongoing restoration plan for the 295-acre park envisions an urban haven, accessible to all for hiking, biking, birdwatching, picnicking and reconnecting with nature. Additionally, through educational programs and partnerships, we provide hands-on opportunities to inspire the next generation of environmental stewards.
