Saturday May 11th at Country View Golf course in Lancaster, Texas, Myles Place Foundation hosted their first annual Golf Fore Charity clinic. This event reflects MPF’s continued efforts in raising awareness for ABLEISM and providing recreational resources that’s inclusive for all.

Myles Place Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, is deeply committed to promoting inclusivity, empowerment, and opportunities for individuals and families with diverse abilities. Their dedication is inspired by the superhero Myles Houston, aiming to establish a world where every person can flourish and enjoy a fulfilling life, regardless of their abilities.
The foundation is dedicated to removing obstacles and supporting the overall well-being of their champions. By offering a variety of recreational events, adaptive sports, and inclusive activities, their goal is to improve physical health, foster social connections, and create a sense of belonging for all. MPF is a local nonprofit well known for their philanthropic efforts across the DFW. So much so, they took home the 2023 Best Nonprofit title from last year’s Best of Black Dallas Awards.

During the event, attendees were treated to breakfast along with onsite golf lesson from Country View professionals. Guests also were able to network and meet Myles Place Foundation advocates and board members.

We asked the superhero himself, Myles Houston what he thought of the day.
I had a lot of fun! Every time we have an event, I always have fun. But today we had fun on the course. I need to practice more!

Myles Place Foundation founder and golf enthusiast, Kiarra Grey has hosted many recreational events in the past, but this is the first golf event she’s ever hosted. And it was for good reason.
It’s not uncommon to see access for track & field or basketball recreational facilities for disabled individuals. We at MPF always want to bring awareness and do something different, so I thought golf was perfect and it was an incredible turn out.
Kiarra Grey, founder of Myles Place Foundation
Grey is always focused on the pillars of Myles Place Foundation to achieve their multi-million dollar goal to create a recreational facility providing for all individuals – regardless of physical or mental abilities – to enjoy recreational events & adaptive sports. She anchors the MPF mission under their H.A.S.S. programs, Hero League, Advocacy & Awareness, Support groups & Scholarship.

The first Golf Fore Charity event from Myles Place Foundation was quite a success. With Texas temperatures rising just in time for summer, we probably wont see another until next year. But leave it up to their fearless leader, Miss Grey who always manages to find a way to bring everyone outside in the name of charity.
