Superman’s Wendell Pierce Shares First Look As DCU’s Perry White

Superman’s Wendell Pierce has shared the first look at the DCU’s Perry White.

The first trailer for Superman has now been officially released. The movie, which will be released in theaters this coming July, is directed by James Gunn and sees David Corenswet play the Man of Steel.

Ahead of the Superman trailer’s release, Pierce took to X to share a photo of him as Perry White in the forthcoming DCU movie. In DC Comics, Perry White is the editor-in-chief of the Metropolis newspaper the Daily Planet who frequently interacts with Clark Kent and Lois Lane (played by Rachel Brosnahan).

What else do we know about James Gunn’s Superman movie?

“James Gunn takes on the original superhero in the newly imagined DC universe with a singular blend of epic action, humor, and heart, delivering a Superman who’s driven by compassion and an inherent belief in the goodness of humankind,” the synopsis reads.

The cast of Superman also includes Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, Nathan Fillion as Guy Gardner, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, MarĂ­a Gabriela de FarĂ­a as The Engineer, Pruitt Taylor Vince as Jonathan Kent, Neva Howell as Martha Kent, Terence Rosemore as Otis, Beck Bennett as Steve Lombard, Mikaela Hoover as Cat Grant, Christopher McDonald as Ron Troupe, and Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr.

Superman will be released in United States theaters on July 11, 2025, from Warner Bros. Pictures as part of the DCU’s first chapter, which is titled “Gods and Monsters.”

Following Superman, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, which is directed by Craig Gillespie, has been given a June 26, 2026 release date. The DCU Clayface movie written by Mike Flanagan was also recently given a September 11, 2026, release date.

Superman Takes Flight in First Motion Poster for James Gunn Movie

The first motion poster for James Gunn’s Superman movie has been released.

Superman will be released in United States theaters in July 2025. Directed by Gunn, the DCU film stars David Corenswet as Clark Kent, while Rachel Brosnahan is playing Lois Lane.

On X, the official Warner Bros. Pictures account has shared the first official motion poster for Superman, which sees the Man of Steel take flight and includes the tagline, “Look up.” Check out the poster below:

Official plot details for Superman remain under wraps at this time; however, it has also been announced that the first teaser trailer for the movie will be released on Thursday, December 19, 2024.

“I set out to make a movie about a good man in a world that isn’t always so much,” Gunn said on Instagram when the movie wrapped production in July. “And the goodness and kindness and love I’ve encountered on a daily basis on the set has inspired me and thrust me forward when I felt too spent to move on my own. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. It has been an honor. The destination has been Superman, but the journey has been the toil and the laughter and the emotions and ideas and magic we’ve shared together on set – and for that I am forever grateful.”
