The Denton Guyer Wildcats have set themselves up to be a force in the competition this season. With a new head coach in place, they are seeking a spot in the championship. One hitter, in particular, has made a name for herself on and off the court, while also catching the eyes of numerous college volleyball programs. That outside hitter is Kyndal Stowers. This 5’11 player has been all the buzz in the volleyball world; there’s no volleyball talk if her name doesn’t come up.
Stowers is ranked 13th in the state of Texas and 65th nationally in volleyball. With her junior year coming close to a championship, Stowers has only continued to improve. Recently, Stowers and the Guyer Wildcats competed in the regional tournament, sweeping away with victories leading them to compete even further. Stowers has racked up 579 kills over the last two seasons, quickly emerging as one of the Dallas-Fort Worth area’s most explosive offensive threats. Since losing some of their former teammates, Stowers has also become a team leader. Not only do her teammates believe in her but so do her coaches, especially when it comes to her impact on the team and her leadership ability.
“Obviously, she is an incredible athlete. But what impresses me most about her is that she is such a good human. She’s a really good teammate. Her athleticism and her ability sometimes surpass the people around her, but she never hesitates to talk up her teammates and lift them up around her,” Coach Jackson said of Stowers in an interview with the Denton Record-Chronicle.

Along with her dedication to her team at Denton Guyer, she has also displayed her talent on a select team known as Texas Advantage Volleyball (TAV). TAV is Stowers’s club team that she has been competing on for several years now. Providing years of experience, TAV is also where she has made a staple for her name.
An early announcement of Stowers’s commitment to Baylor came this past summer. Stowers is the second major Dallas-area recruit to commit to Baylor among players coming back this season. Baylor, along with other programs like Florida, Texas A&M, and Kentucky were at the top of her list. However, Baylor ultimately came out on top.
“Baylor has a very, very strong Christian culture. It’s like no other. No other school in the nation is like it. They emphasize a culture of joy, having fun and enjoying your time here. It’s hard to find. It definitely made it feel like home, for sure,” said the junior Baylor commit in an interview with the Record-Chronicle.
Junior year is coming to a close and although the Guyer Wildcats leader has already committed to Baylor, her commitment to the Wildcats and TAV will continue throughout the rest of her junior and senior seasons. With the last spike over the net, Stowers and the Wildcats are ready to battle it out with their contenders for the championship.
