Originally from the British Virgin Islands, Roma Osowo debuted her vibrant art collection across Target stores and online Sunday, Sept. 4. This 18-piece collection features a variety of abstract masterpieces ranging in designs and sizes. While each design is unique, all of them elicit a feeling of joy and optimism to reflect Osowo’s perspective. The collection will be available in Target stores until Sunday, Dec. 4 and online until Monday, Sept. 4, 2023. Initially, Osowo’s Target collection came about when a home decor company saw potential in her talent. With their help, she was introduced to the notable department store and the rest is history. Target loved her passion and saw how much emotion was behind every piece. As a result, the corporation wanted to use their platform to spotlight such a special artist. Growing up in Tortola, British Virgin Islands, Osowo had a creative outlook on life and used paint, music, and sports to express it. However, when she moved to the United States and started a family with her husband, these activities soon diminished and became a rare luxury. After a 12-year hiatus, Osowo picked up her paintbrush, in 2017, and realized this was her passion.

“For over 10 years, I prayed consistently for the answer to what my purpose was and what I was supposed to be doing,” says Osowo. “I believe that because I’m doing what I love, and it also honors God while bringing some beauty to this broken world, I am full of energy and passion to keep going because it does not feel like work.”

Osowo describes how much she wants to share her “love for creating work that is uplifting and brings joy and has meaning to people who connect with that.” Her overall goal is to radiate positivity that is contagious. Spending over a decade with art on the backburner, Osowo has seen how easy life can fall into motions without pursuing anything new. Her goal, as an artist, is to give viewers a feeling of refreshment and inspiration through her vibrant art. Thus, every paint stroke and color chosen is made with intention and value behind it. Osowo’s art reflects her journey towards picking up the paintbrush again and the role of her family through it all. Her collection at Target is a symbol of her pursuit and passion of art that highlights the joy behind every step of the way.

“I want people to associate my name with the type of art and feeling they want to create in their homes,” Osowo says. “As well as a name that reminds people that it’s never too late to pursue what you love.”

Her collection at Target will be available in select stores until Sunday, Dec. 4 and online until September 4, 2023. This 18-piece collection will feature vibrant canvases that cohesively pair together for the perfect home accent. Follow along with Osowo’s journey and shop her Target collection here.
