The city is buzzing with excitement for this weekend’s TwoGether Land Festival that’ll be held in Fair Park. With so many huge music acts performing in the Big D like Lil Wayne, Summer Walker and Jeezy, it’s also a perfect opportunity for many in the industry to come and enjoy the event. Especially considering Dallas’s centralized position and multiple airports, it’s almost too easy to pull up on what will be one of the biggest music events of the year.

Never one to miss an opportunity to bring people together for an unforgettable experience, on Friday May 24th at 9Nine Kitchen & Lounge, Dallas elite were welcomed to Pen, Pad & Beats the Sean Garrett Experience by Swan7 Entertainment and powered by Jack Daniels. The intimate conversation was hosted by NinaTheEmcee and Swan Lee, coupled with sounds created by Sean Garrett himself like “You Already Know” and “Break Up“. Undeniably one of the best song-writers in the game, Sean (also known as The Authority On All Things R&B) talked about working with artists like Beyoncรฉ, Usher and Chris Brown and how endearing it is to hear his songs still be revered after so much time. Truth is, Sean Garrett has changed lives through his song writing. The #1 hit “Yeah” by Usher and “Run It” by Chris Brown are still the most successful songs for those artists’discographies. The Atlanta native also talked about his admiration for producers like Jermaine Dupri and Jazze Pha, who have shown him the importance of having your own sound and always striving for excellence.
Throughout the conversation Sean Garrett made it clear that he’s very intentional about what he writes and how he does it. He attributes his perfectionism to his success but also knows that he was gifted an opportunity some of his peers never received, and he’s incredibly grateful.

DW had a chance to chat with Sean Garrett directly on his influence in the music industry and his excitement for the future of music and culture in Dallas.
I’m really loving the blending of different sounds and genres. I lived in London for a while and I have traveled the world, so that has definitely influenced my music. But to be honest, the way things are now, it really gives a chance to do things never done before. I’m very excited for what’s next. Sky is the limit.
