The FC Barcelona women’s soccer club stopped in Dallas during their United States tour to play Dallas Trinity FC in a friendly match. 5,387 fans would fill Cotton Bowl Stadium to see the newest sports club in the Dallas-Fort Worth area go head to head against the historic 125-year old franchise. Barca would score four goals in the first thirty minutes of the match and the onslaught would continue as FC Barcelona defeats DTFC, 6-0.
Dallas Trinity FC’s general manager and acting head coach Chris Petrucelli was quoted saying that the friendly “was a fun night for everybody. Obviously we were up against a fantastic opponent who played beautifully. I thought we competed hard and gave it our best” and concluded by saying that “everybody won tonight”, especially the city of Dallas and the fans of both teams.
Dallas Trinity FC open their season against the DC Power Football Club in Dallas at the Cotton Bowl on Saturday, September 7 at 7PM/CST and will stream on Peacock. Tickets are also available for purchase at www.dallastrinityfc.com.
