As communities across North Texas commemorate Juneteenth, the Dallas Leadership Foundation (DLF) is inviting residents, businesses, churches and community organizations to take part in a citywide effort to serve neighbors and strengthen neighborhoods.
DLF will host its annual Transform(ING) Dallas community service activation on Friday and Saturday, June 19โ20, 2026, bringing together volunteers from across the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex for two days of hands-on projects designed to make a lasting impact in neighborhoods throughout the city.
Now in its 31st year, Dallas Leadership Foundation continues its mission of serving Dallas through neighborhood engagement, youth development, workforce initiatives, re-entry support and community partnerships. Organizers say this year’s Juneteenth weekend activation is an opportunity to honor freedom through service while investing in the people and places that make Dallas strong.
Two Days of Service Across Dallas
The two-day activation will focus on projects identified by the communities being served, ensuring that volunteer efforts align with neighborhood priorities.
Friday, June 19 will feature outdoor improvement projects, including:
- House painting
- Gardening and landscaping
- Exterior home improvements
- Doorbell installation
- Outdoor lighting enhancements
Corporate partners will also have dedicated opportunities to engage employee volunteer teams through Friday’s service projects.
On Saturday, June 20, volunteers will participate in indoor and community engagement activities, including:
- Community block parties
- Food distribution efforts
- Care package assembly
- Diaper drive support
- Family-focused neighborhood engagement
Serving Neighborhoods Across the Metroplex
Volunteer opportunities will be available across multiple Dallas-area communities, including:
- Owenwood
- Hamilton Park
- Wynnewood Heights
- Historic 10th Street District
- Dolphin Heights
- Jubilee Park and Community Center
- West Dallas
- Oak Cliff
Organizers say sponsors, volunteers and community partners are collectively helping generate more than $100,000 in community impact through service hours, in-kind contributions and financial support.
