DALLAS — Dallas Black Chamber of Commerce (DBCC) President & Chief Executive Officer Harrison Blair has informed the Board of Directors that he will step down effective August 21, 2026, concluding a seven-year tenure defined by organizational growth, innovative programming, strengthened partnerships, and expanded opportunity for Black-owned businesses across North Texas.

“It has been a privilege to serve this Chamber and the community it represents,” Blair said. “The Dallas Black Chamber of Commerce has stood for more than a century as an advocate for Black entrepreneurship in this city, and being entrusted with even a chapter of that story is something I will always carry with me. I am proud of what we built together, and I am confident the organization is positioned for what comes next.”

Awards, Honors and Recognition

Blair’s work received recognition throughout the Dallas business and civic community. He was named to D CEO’s Dallas 500 and was a 2022 finalist for the publication’s Nonprofit & Corporate Citizenship Leadership Excellence Award. He was also named a Metro Salute Honoree by Texas Metro News and selected for the Dallas Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 in 2026. Each honor raised the Chamber’s visibility and created new platforms from which to advocate for its members.

A Legacy of Service

Board Chair Sheena Thomas thanked Blair for his service and commitment to the Chamber’s mission.

“Harrison gave this Chamber his energy, his relationships, and his time, often well beyond what the role asked of him,” Thomas said. “He showed up for our members, opened doors for Black-owned businesses across this region, and brought forward programming that reflected real creativity about how a chamber can serve its community. He also developed a tremendous appreciation for the history of this institution and the responsibility that comes with carrying that legacy forward. On behalf of the Board of Directors and our members, we thank him and wish him every success.”

The Board of Directors will begin the search for the Chamber’s next President & CEO. Additional details regarding the leadership transition will be announced in the coming weeks.
