On Thursday, Jan. 19, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., Deep Ellum Foundation will kick off Deep Ellum’s 150th anniversary celebration with an invite-only black-tie reception. The event will host stakeholders and invited guests, including Dr. Alan Govenar, Deep Ellum historian, and Councilman Jesse Moreno, to preview the year-long celebrations throughout 2023. This will include highlights of all Deep Ellum has offered and continues to offer to Dallas’ cultural enrichment.
Throughout the night, the black-tie event will feature live performances and activations. These activities will reflect Deep Ellum’s culture and highlight the past 150 years. At the same time, there will be a welcome video featuring Mark Cuban, sneak peeks into the community center’s upcoming history exhibit, and a preview of the events to come.
With this kickoff reception, Deep Ellum Foundation strives to set the tone of the upcoming year. 2023 will be a year of celebration and an elevated experience showcasing all Deep Ellum has offered and continues to offer to Dallas’ history, culture, and future.
