Former Garland City Council representative and Mayor Pro-tem, Jeff Bass, has been appointed to the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) Board of Directors, replacing Marc Abraham. Bass previously served on the Garland City Council for three consecutive terms and is currently the owner and operator of a construction company in Richardson, Texas. He has a record of public service and is committed to ensuring safe, accessible, and equitable service across the DART service area for all North Texans.

Bass, a former Garland City Council representative, replaces Marc Abraham on the DART Board of Directors

DALLAS, Texas โ€” The Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) Board of Directors announced that former Garland City Council representative and Mayor Pro-tem, Jeff Bass, has been appointed to the DART Board. Bass replaces Marc Abraham, whose term ended June 30. 

Bass previously served on the Garland City Council for the maximum allowed three consecutive terms from 2021 to 2026 and served as mayor pro-tem. He currently serves on the Garland Citizenโ€™s Fire Club Board and is Chair of the Leadership Garland Committee. His public service includes participation on numerous volunteer committees and boards in the City of Garland. He is owner and operator of J. Bass Construction, a residential remodeling, roofing, and commercial contractor based in Richardson, Texas.

Abraham was first appointed to the DART Board in 2023 and was elected Vice Chair in October of 2025. The Board will vote on a new Board Vice Chair later this year.
